Monsoon Wedding, Honeymoon

So the internet has been really sketch and I've been traveling a lot, but I had to come back by popular demand. My fans (read: mother and grandmother) need me. I need to catch you up on the rest of class, my trip to Nepal and this past week of traveling. Let's see... what did you miss? I went on a safari and saw tons and tons of elephants. That was cool. Went with a few LBJ friends to Nepal and that was so great- totally different speed than India and great shopping for Tibetan jewelry and rugs and stuff. I was able to hang out with my friend Janelle who'd I'd previously traveled to India with before. She's working at an orphanage in Kathmandu and it was so great to be able to go to breakfast with her at the rooftop restaurants. I need a garden on my roof no matter where I live. I have decided this.

Oh and then Phillip came to India and we got married. Wait- did I not tell you? Phillip and I are married now. We got married in Delhi and have been traveling through hill stations in the Himalayas (here pronounced him-ah-lee-uhs). Monsoon has made everything more umpredictable and exciting.

Other things you should know:

Phillip got into a fight with monkeys on our balcony off our hotel in Shimla (he was so scared but won't admit it). It didn't help that I locked him out.

I got to go back to the orphanage I worked at in 2004. I only recognized 2 of the kids, but it was so good to see them and see how the place has changed. There was a team there (check out their blog- they are so cool www.theglobalchallenge.org- go yellow team!) painting the walls all clean and fresh and other teams have planted a garden. Oh and there are ducks now. For those of you who know, I saw Dakalmun and Tongboi. They still have the cutest smiles EVER.

On an unrelated (but incredibly relevant) note, appreciate really good cheese. Treasure it. You never know when it will be gone from your life. Seriously, go right now to Whole Foods and get some brie.

Hopefully I'll have pictures soon.
